AJKD welcomes manuscripts in the categories listed below. Authors should adhere to the guidelines provided.
Original Investigations evaluate pathogenesis and treatment of kidney disease and hypertension,
acid-base and electrolyte disorders, dialysis therapies, and kidney transplantation. AJKD considers only
manuscripts that focus on clinical research; studies that focus on laboratory measurements are suitable only
if they are directly linked to measurements or outcomes in humans. For clinical trials, AJKD requires
registration in a public trials registry; more information about the clinical trial registration policy is provided in
the online Editorial Policies (available in the FOR AUTHORS section of the AJKD website; www.ajkd.org).
